Re: Intel SSD Toolbox update from v3.1.8 to v3.2.3 impossible

Not quite sure what the goal is here.  Yes, you have displayed the list of devices in your system.  However, we are talking about having to uninstall ssd toolbox 3.1.8 before installing 3.2.3 as a possible solution to having the Intel update manager correctly show 3.2.3 installed.  All a bit late now being that you installed 3.2.3 over 3.1.8 which, as you say, should have been ok to do and even states such in Intel® Download Center, specifically:

NOTE:  Installing this version of the Intel SSD Toolbox overwrites any previous version of Intel SSD Toolbox installed in your system.

So, the issue is now how to stop the Intel update manager from wrongfully reporting the version installed.

The only way to test my guess would be to uninstall 3.2.3, reinstall 3.1.8, uninstall 3.1.8, and then install 3.2.3.  To do that, you would need to have the 3.1.8 install file.  Or, if you can do a system restore to a point prior to installing 3.2.3, then uninstall 3.1.8, and then install 3.2.3.

My concern is that things can and do go wrong.  I would hate to have you potentially create a situation where your system is not functioning.  That said, I would try the restore point, uninstall 3.1.8, an then install 3.2.3.  Also, since you were having trouble with the Intel update manager and ssd toolbox anyway, perhaps going back to a restore point prior to that would be an even better approach, then do not use the Intel update manager, uninstall 3.1.8, and install 3.2.3.

It is difficult to make this clear.  Hopefully, I have not confused the situation too much.
