Hi

No hardware changes, They worked fine before. The current workaround it to never turn off display which isnt ideal. They all started doing it around the same time , we are an MSP so all the updates are scheduled and installed at once so im thinking something to do with an update.

I tried updating my drivers, but they won't update. And yes, I tried updating my drivers to the 100 series, it won't update. Please help me, thank you.

I have an HP G60 Notebook PC

My video card driver is: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1)

Please, If you can, any help would be appreciated!
Thats what it shows when i try to uddate my drivers.

The Euclid's data sheet says that it can handle a maximum of 35 degrees external air temperature.

I was not sure whether you meant that it was 75 degrees weather in your location or 75 degrees temperature inside the Euclid's casing.

If it is inside the casing, it sounds like you are running a program that is pushing the Euclid's processor chip very hard and radiating a lot of heat from it, causing shutdown because the cooling fan in the Euclid cannot cope with it.

What is the weather like in your location?  Hot weather and / or thin air (e.g in high mountainous locations) can cause a fan to struggle more than usual.  A symptom of a struggling fan is it making more noise than usual as it works harder to try to keep the processor temperature down.

Also, Ubuntu's 'System Monitor' window could show you what processes are running so you can see what is causing high processor load.

Hi,

The external temperature (ambient) is roughly 28-30 degC

The temperature of 75 degC is read in the Euclid interface (10.42.0.1/#system/status) : “System status”  in “Utilities Tab”

This morning temperature in France is lower (20 degC), but the Euclid don’t start! There is just a big fan noise…

Is it possible to burn the Euclid just by playing the prerecorded scenario with the Turtlebot?

Best regards

Vincent

Scott,

Are these microcode updates (lets say this particular HT-bug) only available as bios updates or are they also part of the binary blob which the operating system can load aswell?

Here is for example how it may look in Ubuntu (Linux) if you enable "Using Processor microcode firmware for intel CPUs from intel-microcode (proprietary)" within "additional drivers":

[    0.000000] microcode: microcode updated early to revision 0x1f, date = 2016-04-01

[    1.887860] microcode: sig=0x40651, pf=0x40, revision=0x1f

[    1.887904] microcode: Microcode Update Driver: v2.01 <tigran@aivazian.fsnet.co.uk>, Peter Oruba

Re: Fan noise D54250WYK, and other models...any definitive solution yet?

Do you have any flow charts for this?

Because when you disassemble the cpu fan (in order to use the motherboard in a passive cooling solution) you can clearly see that its mainly the the fins for the cpu cooler who gets this airflow and not the surrounding components - specially not the components who are on the opposite side of the motherboard (that is the harddrive side).

Regarding the battery design screwup an easy fix for intel which doesnt affect the footprint on the motherboard would be to make the extension cable having connectors midway (see another thread about this) - this way you (the customer) could disconnect the battery on the harddrive side of the motherboard without having to completely disassemble the unit just to disconnect the battery where its connected on the motherboard (the CPU side).

When you say "bottom of your board", is this the CPU or the harddrive side?

The shutdown mechanism when the internal temperature becomes too hot is designed to stop damage being done to the hardware by giving the device a chance to cool down.  So if the shutdown mechanism is working correctly when temperature becomes excessive then there should not be permanent damage.  If the temperature rise is sudden though then this is not a guarantee of avoiding burn damage.

Years back, I was working on upgrading a Celeron PC with the casing open and had the processor instantly burst into flames on startup because I hadn't seated the processor's pins in the socket properly!  An extreme example, but it killed the processor because there was no way back from sudden heat death like that.

If the Euclid were working correctly then if it thought the temperature was excessively hot, I would expect the BIOS to automatically shut the Euclid down, not stay on with the fan running.  That symptom does not sound encouraging, unfortunately.  If you need to return your Euclid to Intel for refund or replacement, you can do so by emailing click.support@intel.com

Re: Is it possible to make the FUT iso UEFI bootable?

Hi Nestor,

Thank you very much for following up on my request, please see attached log.

My SSD is a 540s SSDSCKKW010X6.

I am attempting to update with issdfut_2.2.1.iso, should contain FW 041C for my SSD if I’m not mistaken.

It’s not critical for me as the SSD is performing well, it’s more a request to make it easier in the future not only for me but for everyone that has a computer locked on UEFI boot (Sony has disabled the advanced section in my InsydeH2O bios making it impossible to change to legacy boot).

Best regards

Ottar

Will the little scratch void my warranty?

As title says, when I took the processor out for cleaning I notice a little scratch on the back..

I m worried it will void my warranty..The cpu works just fine not overheating or other errors, works as it needs to be.

ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs (also I think there is a little bit of thermal paste too up there on those two pads and I got rid of them after taking the picture)

...and I just got an application crash with the other SODIMM in the same slot (the lower one). Rebooted to Memtest86 and the test detected several hundred memory errors.

I've shifted the SODIMM to the upper slot, and Memtest86 hasn't found any errors so far.

Hi CitizenNUC

first, Intel graphic driver version 4678 do flickers, and was proved by Intel engineer.  You should down grade the graphic driver to version 4664.

I have tested microsoft basic driver too.  The Microsoft driver said that HDMI port output running at 3840*2160@64Hz, It was confuse me some time for it led's me to belieave the HDMI was working at 2.0 version.  But when I checked the TV real input mode, I found it is 3840*2160@30Hz, only HDMI1.4. not as windows said 3840*2160@64Hz.

I do not know if your other PCs do worked at 4k@60Hz.  Since i am reading your Sony TV manual PC input mode, I saw no 4k 60hz was supported.

Corresponding PC input signal

(Resolution, Horizontal frequency/Vertical frequency)

  • 640 x 480, 31.5 kHz/60 Hz
  • 800 x 600, 37.9 kHz/60 Hz
  • 1024 x 768, 48.4 kHz/60 Hz
  • 1280 x 768, 47.4 kHz/60 Hz and 47.8 kHz/60 Hz
  • 1360 x 768, 47.7 kHz/60 Hz
  • 1280 x 1024, 64.0 kHz/60 Hz
  • 1920 x 1080, 67.5 kHz/60 Hz*
  • 3840 x 2160, 30 Hz

* The 1080p timing, when applied to the HDMI input, will be treated as a video timing and not a PC timing. This will affect the [System Settings] and [Display] settings. Error when installing latest Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver on Windows 10

When trying to install version 15.33.45.4653 of the Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver on my Windows 10 64-bit machine via Intel Driver Update Utility or manually, I get the following error:

fehler.PNG

The message roughly translates to "The setup program couldn't install one or more device drivers. The setup is cancelled.".

Further specifications:

Model: Acer Aspire p3-171

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3339Y CPU @ 1.50GHz, 1497 MHz

It would be nice if someone could help me with this problem. Please ask for it if any further information is required to solve the issue.

Edit: When trying to update it via the device manager, I get the following message:

fehler3.PNG

Hello.

As I won't be close to my NUCs for 24 hours, I have had the question from the case designer:
Do you have a picture of the fanside of the board of the NUC?

And gunning for the airport, I don't?

Anyone?

Hello Amy C.,

I followed your instructions but the problem persists. In particular, the bios was already upgraded as well as the second driver (Intel Chipset Driver) you indicated. While for the third I installed the first (Intel Management Engine Driver) while the second tells me that it should be installed according to Windows Update and all the updates installed. After making the modifications I restarted the system but so on as I described above the problem persists.

Waiting for your answer, Natalino.

I have tried everything online. It just keeps telling me I can't install it. I have a Windows 10 - 64bit, Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400, and  Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4600U CPU @ 2.10GHz, 2701 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s).

Please help me figure out how to upgrade this. Even games are now saying my graphics version is old and will cause delays.

Sincerely,

Nate Oehring
