It is VERY important to note that just because a processor is SOCKET compatible, it is not necessarily compatible with the BIOS and CHIPSET. Do your research.
It is also important to beware of where you purchase your processor. There are a lot of counterfeit processors for sale on the web. Cost is relative.
My personal position is to not continue using older motherboards.
