Re: Widi & Windows 8.1 problems

Wes - Thank you SO much for your reply to this. I used the info you provided to locate the Win 8 utility from Dell's site, located here: Dell Driver Site

Even though I am running Windows 8.1 this app appears to work for my setup. I posted earlier in the thread, but this is my basic setup as far as the components go:

Custom desktop with Intel Core i7-3770 and Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 adapter

Netgear P2TV3000 connected to my TV which is in the same room with line of sight to the AC antenna

Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 which has three Dell monitors connected (1x HDMI and 2x DVI) that sit on my desk

System board is an EOL Asrock Z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3 that runs Intel HD Graphics 4000

Everything is running current firmware, though when I installed the Dell utility it appears to have down-revved the driver as it wants to update to something more current, which I am not inclined to do at this point!

Even with three monitors connected to the discrete graphics card, the app finds and connects to the P2TV3000, and does exactly what it should, show the TV as a 4th monitor which in screen resolution settings has it next to the last monitor in my setup. This means I can simply drag a window over to it like moving from one monitor to another on my desk! While connected the audio from my PC also re-directs to the TV meaning I can feed to my surround system as well.

Finally, I can get my money's worth out of this latest upgrade. My advice to Intel and Mr. Joe - PLEASE go back to the drawing board with the latest software drivers and optimize this utility to work with 8.1 properly as this legacy software appears to be doing, or make this utility widely available on your site to people like us that are trying to make use of your hardware and all but giving up in frustration!

Thanks guys, good luck!
