Re: "The platform is not compatible with Intel(R) Widi..."

Hi, I am trying to install Widi on my system:

HP Probook 6470b:

  1. Intel HD Graphics 4000,
  2. Intel Core i5-3210,
  3. Broadcom BCM943228HM4L,
  4. WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL 64 BIT

Now I understand that the above specifications should support WiDi and indeed the laptop's HP support page has Widi software and drivers listed. Click on the below link:

Drivers, Software & Firmware for HP ProBook 6470b Notebook PC - HP Support Center

Further, there are available updates for Intel Graphics and Broadcom Wireless supporting Widi available too on the same page which I have installed.

When I try using Intel's Widi Update utility, it throws up an error saying: "Your graphics driver has been customized by the OEM. Please go to the manufacturer's support site to update the driver and run Intel WiDi Update Tool again."

This step I have already done as mentioned above.

Further, when I try to install the WiDi setup software available from Intel, it says "This platform is not compatible with Intel WiDi or the application is in use".

Furthermore, when I try to install Intel Widi software available from HP for Probook 6470b available from the link above (the software install notes too clearly say that the installation is meant for Probook 6470b), the setup goes through a few steps and disappears completely.

Please help out. Thanks.
