I have 1/2year old quite expensive notebook HP DV7-7020 i7 that should be WiDi capable without any problem. I've just bought the latest model of LG TV LG 32LA660 and WiDi doesn't work.
LG is equipped with the latest firmware.
Notebook has latest Windows 8 drivers for HD4000, network drivers and WiDi. WiDi software sees LG TV but isn't able to connect. During connection Windows 8 it tries to search device (windows "Add device or printer"), but if finds nothing and LG TV doesn't show any connection PIN. I tried old drivers and application for Windows 7 and WiDi worked correctly, but only for 30 seconds.
LG support hasn't helped it claims that's the problem of Microsoft drivers.
It's a shame that so much advertised function doesn't work correctly. Intel wake up - so far LG is your only partner that sells TVs with WiDi!diD
