Sir i was receiving some garbage values ...i thought it might be baud rate mismatch.....! Then i figured out , No it was a problem was with the hardware.......since i was getting output properly in my PC from atmega8, i thought to take a look at the hardware again........actually i have built my own galileo shield i saw that the ground pin was bit floating and then re-soldered checked for connectivity on every pin....and also moved the code in setup to loop part and i got the output successfully .....thanks for your suggestion......
Sir i have one more question i am using galileo in my robot which is powered by 12V battery..with(5V) avr atmega8 and few sensors and motors(4)and servos(seperate supply for servos)...........but if i try to give 5V regulated supply to galileo the power led on-board blinks and its not stable......and battery voltage reduces suddenly from 12V to 8-9V ......can u suggest me a suitable way to energize galileo and also want to use webcam further in my project..... is it better to use 12V to 5V,3A buck converter .???..please help me out ...i want to use my galileo as standalone microcontroller in my project along with atmega16,sensors ,motors,servos,LCD....etc and the battery i am using is 12V 1.3Ah lead acid battery......
