Most impressive. The first link (http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wtech/iwd/sb/CS-031059.htm)
takes you to a video that says to go to ark.intel.com to find out if your processor supports widi.
The video next says to go to the home tab and select "Advanced Search" from the drop down
Cleverly, the site does not have this selection. In fact there are only 3 items in the drop down and the video shows several items.... By guessing (I selected "Processor Feature Filter" which apparently in intel-speak translates to "Advanced Search" I was able to follow the instructions in the erroneous video.)
My processor (intel core i5-2430m) and my wireless card (intel Centrino ireless N-1000) supported this technology when I purchased my system and the WiDi stuff was all installed. It was a major selling point and it was a big feature for me. Now, intel can't support it because of poor software. I have followed the pablum that joe (un)intel has been spouting in here for months and the lame driver update utility tells me everything is up to date. Except it still does not work. Even thought the ark.intel.com site says my processor supports it.
Finally when I get to the install display software portion of your installation order, I get the "This platform is not compatible with Intel WiDi.Your grahics driver cannot find or load necessary components for Intel WiDi"
IT WORKED JUST FINE BEFORE THE "UPDATE" INTEL DID TO ME. At this point I don't care about the update. I don't want it. I want it to work again. Please tell me (in the very detailed order you used for the new stuff) how to roll this back to the previous versions you obliterated (including STABLE software version numbers.) And DO NOT tell me to go back to my manufacturer supplied installer disc. You screwed it up, now provide the correct drivers to roll back to so I can use what I paid you for.
