MasterJakkals, how is that hard drive being connected to the system? SATA or USB? Keep in mind that if this is through USB, this would not be managed by Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology.
Roy Tam, what is the version of the Option ROM installed in the systems you are having issues with? This can be checked by going to the Option ROM during the system boot up (Usually pressing Control I). And as Gize, advised, you can try using a new operating system such as Microsoft* Windows* 7 to prevent any limitation issues from the operating system (having a compatible platform).
