If you believe the issue is related to graphics rendering I suggest you testing with different media player software (or different graphics driver). However, I suspect the issue does not happen in the laptop’s built-in display.
Transferring files across the internet or wireless local network can severely affect the Intel® WiDi connection.
You can monitor the connection’s activity with these steps:
- Establish Intel® WiDi connection.
- Use Windows* key + P to select Extended display mode.
- Play a video file and move that window to the secondary (remote) display.
- From the Primary display launch the task manager by right-clicking on the task-bar and select Start Task Manager.
- Select the Performance Tab (in Windows* 8) and you will find two Wi-Fi connections.
- At this point the wireless connection with a consistent activity (or utilization) level will be the Intel® WiDi connection to HDTV. The utilization of this connection should be higher than your regular Wi-Fi connection, which should be near zero, if you are not downloading files. You can monitor the speed and signal strength while streaming.
