The error was -> "api-control.texi:1736: must be after `@deftypefn' to use `@deftypefnx'"
I was using 5.1 version of makeinfo in my system. The issue is resolved after I installed older version of texinfo (4.13a) from http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/texinfo/
