Here is a copy of my very first support request to gigabyte (esupport.gigabyte.com) that got me the alpha/beta BIOS as their first response. Just thought I'd post here since I see that some people have problems convincing gigabyte support staff that there is a BIOS fix:

Dear Sir/Madam, I have a problem similar to: https://communities.intel.com/thread/46092?start=0&tstart=0, which is the following: After turning off my AVR receiver, or switching to another input on my receiver, the HDMI audio device disappears; and the only option to get back the HDMI audio is to reboot. My setup is the following: HTPC (<YOUR MOTHERBOARD>) -- HDMI --> Receiver (<YOUR RECEIVER>) -- HDMI --> TV (<YOUR TV>) Installed BIOS: <LATEST OFFICIAL VERSION> Installed Intel Drivers: <LATEST DRIVER VERSION> The steps to reproduce: 1. Turn on receiver 2. Turn on TV 3. Turn on HTPC 4. HDMI Audio works 5. Turn off receiver 6. Turn on receiver 7. HDMI Audio stops working, device disappears. According to https://communities.intel.com/message/218663#218663 this issue could be solved by a BIOS update, and is apparently reported to motherboard manufacturers. Specifically, it says that the BIOS should contain "RC 1.6.2 (v131.4 or later BIOS)". So my question is, does the <LATEST OFFICAL VERSION> bios for the <YOUR MOTHERBOARD> contain the above fix? If not, is it possible to get a bios that does include the above fix. Kind regards, <YOUR NAME>
