Re: DN2820FYKH DTS-HD?

@sylvia_intel

Sylvia, the issue is unlikely to be a BIOS issue. Other 2820 NUC users have been able to bitstream DTS-HD by booting to Openelec. If it isn't a BIOS or hardware issue, then it is likely a Win 8.1 driver issue. As mentioned in this thread, the driver that is missing from the 2820 NUCs but available on the other NUCs is the management engine driver and I haven't really seen other NUC users (besides 2820 NUC users) complain about DTS-HD issues so I'm guessing this is the reason.

I really hope you will expedite the resolution of this matter. I was materially induced into purchasing a DN2820FYKH on Intel's representation that it supports DTS-HD. It has been a month since the issue has been raised and it still does not support DTS-HD. I am beginning to suspect that Intel has abandoned support in this area. Lois H from Intel initially asked us to complete an escalation checklist so that he can replicate the issue and we did. Communications have not been forthcoming ever since. We have no idea whether you have been able to replicate the issue or whether Intel engineers are working on it.

What we do know is that Intel has directed its resources at providing driver support for Windows 7 instead of ensuring that the advertised features are available and working on Windows 8.1 first, which was promoted as the primary OS supported by the DN2820FYKH. As a result, I incurred additional expense purchasing Windows 8.1 although I have a spare Win 7 license lying around.
