I was so excited to get my Galileo and connected it right away to my computer's USB port without 5V power supply.. I should have read the documents first.. Probably because of my misplay, it cannot be recognized as COM device in my computer even if connected in the right order. Did I just burn the board? Is there a way to fix it? I read a post saying that it could be corrupted firmware which can be reflashed using DediProg. If just firmware was corrupted, that's not too bad. I suppose that there would be other ways to flash SPI images. DediProg seems not readily available. I hope to get more information and be on the right track to solve the problem. Any help is appreciated!
PS: it seems to me that Galileo is so fragile at this point. I was not uploading any sketches when it was connected through USB. I am developing an educational program to teach how to make use of Galileo. I hope that it would be more robust. I cannot afford to watch every student carefully to prevent damages to the boards.
