When would string addition be supported in Arduino 1.5.3 IDE for Intel Galileo

I am trying to run the String examples on the Galileo board and correctly getting various errors with one of them being highlighted as Known issues in the link below.

Does anyone know when String addition and many other string operations be supported on Galileo on 1.5.3 IDE?
